Until now, the maintenance of the high vertical walls of tall buildings, chimneys, ships’ hulls, containers, etc. required major preparatory efforts – erecting scaffolding or assembling mobile cranes to support workers with the aid of cables. Such work is always dependent on good weather, daylight, and the need for a major staff complement.
